Endoscopy
Endoscopy is the science of looking into body cavities using specialized optical equipment. The procedures can be done with minimal invasiveness and shorter recovery times. Our experienced veterinary staff use a variety of flexible and rigid video endoscopes to study:
- ears, mouth, pharynx and larynx
- nasal passages
- trachea and lungs
- esophagus, stomach, small intestine
- colon and ileum
- bladder and vagina
Advantages of endoscopy are:
- diagnosis of diseases in difficult areas to visualize through surgery
- non-invasive tissue sampling (biopsies)
- removal of foreign objects either ingested or inhaled
